You can use it NP but you will have to do a very different calibration curve as the LZA08 'types' have a narrower range not as accurate due to the slope (steeper) but it can read richer on the types people have sent to me for calibration.
Anyway his is the main reason why they are cheap compared to the others, some after market ECU makers use this type probably for this reason mostly. They do have an ability to read on the extreme rich end (methanol) but most people don't run them this way, for every other application they are pretty shit for the above mentioned, depends how anal you are if the few dollars mean that much ?

Re: NTK L2H2 New Linearisation
I’ll return it and get the correct 09 unit. I wasn’t trying to save anything but time since it was on the shelf at a local auto parts store. Thank you for the info.

I have been developing/testing a new type of NTK sensor for our ECU's and L2C unit
This will allow excess fuel rates applicable to all methanol users
What it also opens up is ability to be used properly full time in pre turbo situations on petrol and E85 applications
There are some other items in works (for TEP and TIP) locations to allow use on any fuel type any practical excess fuel percentage, along with some reviews (with personal opinions only) regarding some of the extreme variations seen being exposed more than Elton John at a FLEXspas pool party

Re: NTK L2H2 New Linearisation
Not put up an update here for while so here is one,
I get asked every so often how good are Syvecs/LR ECU's and why are they better than anything else? well put simply all of the electronics are just flat out the best you can get money no object.
Here is a comparison of various ECU's I have here, and one test was to put the same calibration curve into our 8 channel lambda to can unit as well as a Syvecs S12, and do a test of just one log. In that we have 3 brand new sensors (2xTAG NTK and Lab NTK reference meter), start off on L2C then hot swap one of the TAG NTK's over to the S12, the results speak for themselves !
I have my sensors working on every type of Syvecs and LR ECU and they all perform as stated to highest accuracy you can depend on, been tested and proven here over hundreds of hours and in engine dyno rooms and race tracks around the world I also have a new 'Methanol' NTK being released next month so stay tuned for that - finally a methanol meter that can actually be trusted

Re: NTK L2H2 New Linearisation
stay tuned.............. brand new 2 x of these bad boys
FUN FACT: I ran these sensors 20 years ago, and to revisit will calibrate and offer Life Racing L1H1 curves for those who are after the best on Petrol/Gasoline applications which can be plugged into our Lambda to Can unit or any Syvecs/LR ECU

Re: NTK L2H2 New Linearisation
so for those interested as I do get calls about the 'motorsport' grade NTK sensor, here you go !
as per log notes in log file, two different brand new sensors run with the supplied curve to match this sensor
moral is.......
donmega is a must if you want spot on readings in all ranges (they do read ok between 0.8L and 1.0L which is 'normal' mixture settings for most engines), and every sensor as always is different unless you have something really rare/exotic like a pair of brand new TAG Electronics NTK's like I have
If you want spot on sensors (for extreme rich or lean operation) send them in to be calibrated, regardless of the type I can accommodate you

Re: NTK L2H2 New Linearisation
and motorsport 'L1H1' LR NTK done better, fully corrected per sensor, serial numbered, ready for action !
