To have proper sequential injection, knock control etc etc you need a phase sync. So there must be a cam trigger somewhere.

I would assume that is just because you are COP now. The trigger mechanisms will still be inside the dizzy body

Hi, this is what is inside the cover:
Turns out that I was using the wrong ECU connector too. Found the actual one in a box of bits and it has far fewer wires connected, which makes life a bit easier.

There will be another trigger in there too for phase/sync ID as well as that visible at the front
I would strongly recommend moving to a crank trigger with a missing tooth, instead of using that 24T trigger on the camshaft.
You will still need the phase/sync trigger inside the dizzy either way

There are two sensors inside the dizzy cover, and there is also a crank position sensor (simple two wire one).
Looking at the old writing, it seems that the two sensors were connected at some point, I suspect they shared a ground.
What I can't get my head around is that there are four wires going to the cam position sensor, but only two required by the ECU (cam phase and ground).
